Dear Supporters of Tauranga Primary School
Over the past two years the Board of Trustees have developed a strategic plan with the intent to enhance learning opportunities by providing engaging, accessible and authentic learning experiences for our TPS students. A major priority for this future focused direction is to update our classrooms into 21st Century learning environments so our students have every opportunity to achieve their full potential.
At Tauranga Primary School we are continually striving to be at the forefront of new initiatives in education, we have a reputation as a high quality learning environment and are a school of choice for the families who attend.
Tauranga Primary School is the lead school in an Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) professional learning initiative. Further more, the Board of Trustees have invested in updating our classrooms. In 2010 we installed interactive whiteboards into every class and reinstated a computer suite for school wide use. Every class has a data projector, access to laptops, digital cameras and each syndicate has two ‘flip’ movie cameras.

Our vision is for our students to have ready access to technology that can be blended into current learning programmes, as well as to provide new and creative learning opportunities. To that end the BOT have invested a further $25,000 into transforming the first two classrooms into 21st century environments, Rooms 6 and 11 are the first two rooms with enhanced capacity. Room 11 students have access to ipads now as part of their daily teaching and learning programme and Room 6 students have access to imac computers and ipads.
We would like all of our classes transformed into 21st century learning environments.
You can directly contribute to making this vision a reality for your children. We are asking our school community to consider supporting this initiative as either a commercial (corporate) or private supporter. Read the attached pamphlet for further details. All contributions will be considered a donation and will be receipted for tax purposes
Every $50 contribution will go in the draw to win an ipad.
Note: An ipad draw will be held for every 200 contributions received - keep a track of winners on our school website.
All enquires can be forwarded to either Fiona Hawes, Neil Hitchiner or Russell Syme.
