TO ALL PARENTS

An especially warm welcome to our school and we hope that your association with us will be pleasant and valuable. I’m sure your child/ren will soon make a lot of new friends and settle into school.

At Tauranga Primary School we are dedicated to providing a quality education for each child. We believe that the education of your child involves three main participants:

- the family
- the school
- the child

All participants need to contribute to the overall programme for the benefit of that child.

For those of you wishing to become involved in the school we have a School Support Group (Friends of the School) whose job it is to FUNraise and grow our TPS community, in additon, they also fundraise, organise and help out at school events.

Twice a year a morning tea is held for parents of children who are new to the school. It is an opportunity for you to meet teachers and other parents. You will be notified of the date for this.

Enrolment Information

Early enrolment of a child makes the school’s organisation a lot easier.

Funding is based on projected rolls confirmed later by actual attendance.Staffing is based on the number of children attending and a third of the projected new entrant intake from July to December.

Our school is zoned.  (zone map below).  Our zone is to protect the school from over-crowding situations.  If you are in-zone then your children have right of acceptance.  Out of zone enrolments will need to go to a ballot and are subject to classroom availability. (refer enrolment scheme below).  Proof of address is a requirement of entry.

Our official enrolment form can be downloaded below.   Verification of age needs to be sighted, either the birth certificate, or passport.   A copy of these is required along with the filled out enrolment form.  In addition, verfication of address is also required prior to enrolment.

Preschoolers are invited to attend their new class on two Friday mornings (9:00-10:30) prior to beginning school.

The school is proud of its good school-home relationships and hopefully this will continue as long as the school exists.
